laser treatment arm pain

Have you ever wondered what laser therapy can do for you? Our laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal. Laser therapies are medical treatments using a specific device to focus light on a targeted region of the body. The goal of the laser is to promote healing, aka speed up the healing.

Unlike laser tag, a concert laser light show, or other light sources, light from a medical laser uses specific wavelengths, allowing it to be focused into powerful beams to an area of the body to help it heal from injury and recover more quickly. A Class 4 laser is a valuable and painless form of treatment.

If you have an athletic event or a sporting event, you need to be ready for it as soon as possible. If your pains become chronic and it's recurring over time, the laser helps to speed up the healing process. Many of our patients at Lake Effect Chiropractic successfully use our laser in their treatments of joint pain and arthritis, sports injuries, muscle tears, ligament sprains, and more.

How does the Class four Laser work?

Summus the brand that we use in our office. Their company creates a variety of lasers that are used in veterinary offices all the way to dental offices. In our Bay City area office, our laser uses infrared light sources to introduce a photochemical reaction in the body.

On a cellular and molecular level, this results in increased cellular function and faster tissue repair. The results are overall speedier healing time meaning less pain, more rapid return to sports, and fewer days taken off work due to pain or injury.

The laser provides and supports ideal healing environments, reducing swelling, inflammation, stiffness, muscle spasms, and pain. The best part of everything is it is a painless experience to receive laser therapy.

Who benefits from laser therapy?

Many people find a class 4 laser to be a beneficial addition to their treatment. In our office, not only is the laser lightweight and portable, it's an effective and safe approach to treatment.

The device has multiple settings with a variety of wavelengths allowing both power and precision. Treatments are tailored to you and your condition. The versatility of the laser allows us to treat a huge variety of conditions.

The conditions we can treat are neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, carpal tunnel, headaches, plantar fasciitis, sciatica, and much more. Different settings of wavelengths achieve different effects.

Not every condition should be bombarded with a steady beam of light. Sometimes we use a pulse to increase the absorption of the light. The versatility of the laser wavelengths allows it to treat a variety of conditions.

Think of the laser as a boost of energy to the body in the form of billions of photons and the body absorbs the energy which boosts production on the cellular level and injured cells transform.

What are the benefits?

The benefits include improvements in pain, reduced inflammation, increased movement and range of motion, increased circulation to an injured area, and more.

Laser treatments offer excellent pain relief, as well as swelling reduction, and an increase in circulation. Many patients see quick results after being treated with a therapeutic laser, sometimes even on the first day.

This modality is not suitable for every condition. Pregnant women and individuals with pacemakers don't qualify for treatment. You don't need to schedule a separate appointment for treatment with our class 4 laser.

If this intervention is appropriate for you and your care, it can be combined with your regular appointment. Patients often notice results within the first session, but more complex or complicated conditions may take several. Other conditions may require additional sessions or supportive therapy if it's a long-term condition such as arthritis.
